Next-in-line
system
...so you don't have to watch which line goes faster...

...so there won't be an empty front desk...
...to avoid inconveniences...
The Next-in-line system was first applied at major American Banks.
Since then, this system has been accepted at places with multi-front
desks. Other than banks, flight companies, restaurants, hotels and
retailer chains are guiding their customers with Next-in-line avoiding
inconveniences. As the drawing shows, the purpose of Next-in-line
is that there are more front desks but the customers are standing
in one line. Every time a front desk gets free the next customer
in line can go up to the desk.
The Tensabarrier system makes it possible
to shorten the line -when there aren't so many people- without switching
the posts, therefore avoiding the customer to go trough a long line.
2 Secrets of Successful Traffic Flow
-
Use the Disney philosophy- wind your customers around in a narrow
width so there is no breaking in line – but always have them in
sight of the serving area.
-
At the point of sale, narrow the line so only one customer at
a time can pass through.
